Committees

Serving on one of Georgia Bio’s committee or networks is an excellent way for members to tap into new knowledge as well as shape the strategic issues that affect the industry. GaBio offers a variety of opportunities to participate in committees, network task force and forums that engage in activities designed to promote the success and growth of members’ businesses and the state’s life sciences industry.

You must be a member in good standing to participate in a committee or network.

Contact Georgia Bio to learn how to get involved with committee service.

What is a Committee?

A committee meets on a regular basis and requires volunteer time.  You will be involved in organizing and developing programs throughout the year.  Committees are open to the general membership.

Policy & Advocacy Committee

Chair: Holly Snow, Amgen

The Policy and Advocacy Committee mission is to identify public policy issues of significance to Georgia Bio members and develop position statements and advocacy strategies. The committee also develops forums and programs aimed at educating GaBio members, government officials and the general public about bioscience issues.

In addition, the committee develops the Georgia Bio legislative agenda, strategies for working with other life sciences stakeholders on public policy issues, such as the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Biosciences Council of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, in advocating public policy positions. The Committee works in partnership with the Georgia Life Sciences Coalition (GLSC)-learn more about the GLSC here.
