Medical Device Committee

The Medical Device Committee mission is to foster a competitive business environment in Georgia that supports the development of medical device companies from initial concept to successful commercialization.  The committee has identified 3 primary goals:

  1. Understand and document regional medical device development capabilities, including sources of ideas and intellectual property, access to capital, prototyping, development, manufacturing, testing, and pre-clinical/clinical study capability.
  2. Ensure regional academic institutions and government entities understand and support the commercialization of new medical device concepts.
  3. Identify regional resource needs and growth opportunities, and take steps to realize Georgia’s full potential to attract and develop medical device companies, along with essential, experienced personnel.

Resources for New Georgia Companies

The mission of the Medical Device Committee is to foster a competitive business environment in Georgia that supports the development of medical device companies from initial concept to successful commercialization. One our goals is to showcase regional medical device development capabilities, including sources of ideas and intellectual property, access to capital, prototyping, development, manufacturing, testing, and pre-clinical/clinical study capability.

To this end, we have assembled a directory of service providers, contractors, venture capitalists, suppliers and consultants who focus on the medical device industry.  The members of the Medical Device Committee have worked with these companies and individuals and would recommend them to others. We will strive to keep this information current and the contact information accurate. If you would like to add to the list, please forward the appropriate information to Maria.Thacker@gabio.com.
