Economic Development Committee
The committee's mission is to create a forum for Georgia’s economic development professionals and life-sciences company executives to work closely in developing strategies for growing the state’s life-sciences industry and in creating, retaining and recruiting companies.
Goals
- Assist in the implementation of state economic-development marketing initiatives targeting Georgia’s life-sciences industry.
- Conduct ongoing outreach to existing life-science companies in Georgia to assess companies’ needs and to ensure the growth and retention of Georgia’s established life-science companies.
- Identify companies that may want to relocate to Georgia and provide outreach to companies targeted by Georgia.
- Provide appropriate and timely information for state and local economic-development professionals for use in recruiting life-science companies to Georgia.
- Assist in advocating legislative measures that boost new company formation, support emerging companies and enable established companies to expand.
