Economic Development Committee

The committee's mission is to create a forum for Georgia’s economic development professionals and life-sciences company executives to work closely in developing strategies for growing the state’s life-sciences industry and in creating, retaining and recruiting companies.

Goals

  1. Assist in the implementation of state economic-development marketing initiatives targeting Georgia’s life-sciences industry.
  2. Conduct ongoing outreach to existing life-science companies in Georgia to assess companies’ needs and to ensure the growth and retention of Georgia’s established life-science companies.
  3. Identify companies that may want to relocate to Georgia and provide outreach to companies targeted by Georgia.
  4. Provide appropriate and timely information for state and local economic-development professionals for use in recruiting life-science companies to Georgia.
  5. Assist in advocating legislative measures that boost new company formation, support emerging companies and enable established companies to expand.
